Day 112: Happy Earth Day!

What better way to celebrate than to go out and take pictures in the rain?  When are these storms going to let up? I miss the sun.

Day 109: Gale Winds

This spring weather is crazy.  It is beautiful and green here, but this weather cannot make up its mind.  One minute it is bright and sunny, another minute the winds are blowing light crazy, lightning, hail, tornadoes and rain thrash around. Just another day in the midwest.

The photo isn't great because it was so dark and the wind was blowing so fast.  I didn't want to go outside and risk blowing away.

Day 105: Tornado Warning

Today we had the first tornado warning of the season... my first tornado warning ever.  I took this picture about 5 minutes after INTENSE hail, rain and wind.  Now, it is just eerily calm.  This weather is crazy.  But, the good news is... is that everything is SO green.

Day 93: Gone With the Wind

Jonny can't stand when I take pictures of just him... but this wind was so crazy.  You could literally lean forward into the wind and it would hold you up.  Jonny is demonstrating.

The wind also knocked down all these rain gutters from our building.

Day 67: Rain, rain, go away!

Assignment: Make a feeling that conveys a sense of being outdoors today.

It rained today. Blah! I don't like the rain unless I'm snuggled up in bed with flannel PJs on.

Day 33: Snowmageddon

Assignment: Pretend you're a stringer for your local newspaper today.  Make a photo that captures something newsworthy to you.

Well, it's day two of our snowmadeddon and we had another snow day.  I woke up and shoveled a bit of the walk, but I cracked the shovel and had to stop.  So, I spent the rest of the day inside. Way too cold to play in the snow without my snow clothes!! Anyway, we were supposed to stay off the roads but I wanted to document some of this fun weather.  It wasn't a ton of snow; I would guess about 1 foot.  But, the drifts were crazy in some areas (especially outside our front door), on top of about 1/4" of ice. The sun came out in the afternoon... what a tease! Check out some of these pictures.

This is leading up to our apartment... SO MUCH SNOW!

Day 31: Ice Ice Baby

Assignment: Make a photograph that features repetition.

We are preparing for a winter storm tonight.  According to reports, it is supposed to be one of the worst since record-keeping began.  I wanted to take a picture of all the ice outside, but you can't really see the ice covering EVERYTHING.  It is raining ice-- freezing rain.  The whole sidewalk is iced over-- about 1/4" thick.  This is only the beginning.  Can't wait to see what is in store for tomorrow.
